Funding Eligibility

All nonprofit organizations seeking funding must meet these minimum requirements:

  • Grant requests will be considered only from tax-exempt organizations described in Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code (the “Code”) and further classified as a public charity within the meaning of Section 509(a) (1) or (2) of the Code, or governmental units described in Section 170 of the Code. 509(a)(3) Supporting Organizations will not be considered for funding.
  • Grants are not made to individuals.
  • Elevation Church will consider only one letter of Inquiry and one Funding Proposal application from an organization within a 24-month period.
  • Elevation Church primarily accepts Letters from organizations which serve individuals near an Elevation Church Campus primarily in North Carolina, South Carolina, Florida, and Virginia.
  • Typically, the Foundation does not support organizations with total revenue less than $250,000.

Letter Of Inquiry (LOI)

LOIs are accepted throughout the year without deadline. The purpose of the LOI is to provide the Grants Committee with basic information about your organization, the program under request and the need served.

Before the submission of the LOI, you will be asked to answer these questions in our eligibility quiz:

  1. Has your organization applied to Elevation Church for funding within the last 24 months?
  2. Has your organization received funding from Elevation Church in the past for the specific program you are applying for now?
  3. Are you applying for a grant as an individual?
  4. Is your organization tax exempt as described in Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code (the “Code”) and further classified as a public charity within the meaning of Section 509(a) (1) or (2) of the Code, or governmental units described in Section 170 of the Code?

After your Letter of Inquiry submission, you will receive confirmation that the Letter of Inquiry has been received. We usually respond to Letter of Inquiry within 90 days of submission. You may also be contacted with additional questions or requests for further information.

The completed Letter of Inquiry is presented to the Grants Committee who indicates a level of interest based on mission fit and funding priorities. If your Letter of Inquiry meets these criteria, you will be contacted by Elevation Church staff and invited to submit a full proposal.
